Behind the camera- Second Chance Photoshoot

2 months ago, we did a photoshoot for Second Chance / First Lady new line of clothes for the coming Hari Raya 2012 collection. 3 days of shooting to capture many beautiful Baju Kurung for mean, ladies and kids line of collection. It was indeed a fun session where there were about 10 models, probably hundreds of outfits. The designers, make up artists and the rest of the crew were at thier professional best to ensure the shoot began a success. This is the final shot of the session. I am standing 2nd from the right.

Today I took a trip down to their stores and was pleased to see the posters were up. Feels good to see your images being printed life size all around their outlet at Tanjong Katong Complex and City Plaza.

A day in the studio

One of our services is photography studio rental. Each day, we serve many photographers,fashion designers, students, blogshop owners … basically from all walks of life.

We love talking to our clients, understanding their passion in photography and how they use our studio to deliver their crafts.

The cosy studio environment provides a personal touch to our photographers. Our home like setup makes anyone comfortable as though they are working in their own home.

We also share tips on how to get the best in the lighting setup. We have been operating the studio for many years and has gained lots of experience in getting the best lighting possible in our studio. It doesn’t matter if its your first time using the studio. We are there to assist you in making your shooting session a success.

So photographers, do drop by our studio if you are planning to do a studio shoot soon.

One of the things we do at Pixelwave is to share our knowledge among us. This is part of our continous improvement process to ensure we keep updated with new ideas, cool products and technical know-how. Working in a team has its advantage as many heads are better than one. Over the years, we have become a strong team. In this recent session, our Director of Photography led the sharing session with his knowledge. There was a lot that was exchanged. a truly enriching session at Pixelwave.

We had a brainstorming session last night to kick start our newest project. What we love about getting together is the jokes and laughter that we shared despite the seriousness of the work that we do and the creative pressure of getting something new.

And as usually, being located in Arab Street, the usual teh tarik drinking session is a good closure to a fruitful meeting.

We are truly humbled and honored when Chef Siti Mastura approached us to produce a video to be screened during the launch of her long-awaited recipe book on the 9th of June 2012.

The sold-out event was attended by over 400 guests, along with guest of honor Mdm Halimah Yacob, Minister of State for Community Development, Youth & Sports.

Kak Siti is the most inspirational figure we’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. We’ve discovered a wonderful soul that has a lot more to give than our short video is able to encapsulate.
